While gossip does or maybe doesn't forms one of the oldest and
(still) the most common means of spreading and sharing facts and views,
it also has a reputation for the introduction of errors and other
variations into the information
thus transmitted. The term also carries implications that the news so
transmitted (usually) has a personal or trivial nature. Compare conversation.
Some people commonly understand gossip as meaning the spreading of dust and misinformation, as (for example) through excited discussion of scandals. Some newspapers carry "gossip columns" which retail the social and personal lives of celebrities or of élite members of certain communities
It's as tiresome as seeing your page load on my BLOG!!!
I think if people are gossipers - they are proving how really boring they are - they have no interesting ideas to talk about - so they talk about other people!!!!

Hi Crone !! I hate gossip, i really do. I have found that it is really used as a weapon to tear someone down or to throw dirt on someones reputation. If you really think about it, most gossip is always wrong and when you ask someone who spreads the gossip where they got that from, their usual response is " someone told me". It is the easiest way to try to hurt someone without the gossipper taking the heat for the story when it is proven wrong.

Gossip is one's way for beating others down because you feel so awful about yourself. It absolutely makes me sick. Where is the love in gossip.

My response now to people who come to me to tell me gossip is to ask if they have prayed for that person. If someone comes to me with gossip about me - I ask, "Do you believe it is true?" If the answer is no I say then do not worry - they will dig their own grave. And if they say it may be true then I invite them to pray with me to change so it will not be true.

June, This ALL started and I say it honestly and openly that I DID START the blog Gypsy Knows. BUT since some starting on me and Shadow here, I have a case or should I say my daughter has a case against a blog member and I have got in touch with a VERY good friend who lives in Ky, where I used to live. I told her about such happenings here and she was interested in blogging. Since I had opened up Lunatic Fringe, which *I* have called an alter ego blog. My intentions were to post funny stories, jokes and so on. People immoderately started attacking me, and why, I really don't know or care. But I helped my friend do the background and post pictures that I had in my Photobucket. So these people were actually going to her blog and clicking on the pictures which OBVIOUSLY shows it came from MY Photobucket album. BUT the other person who lives up north in the same town as my friend KNOWS EXACTLY who Gypsy Rose is. Yet she continues to play these bloggers as fools. So either they like looking like fools or they have NO life and really nothing else to post on. Thanks for stopping by and giving me a chance to put this in MY comment section, so they can read it and take it all in.

What an interesting post , I did a post that seems to fit right in. I also added that there is a certain person on here trying to pretend that she doesn't know me , or really it's being said that you and I are one in the same. I take it that there turned into PIs , and thought they have really figured something out.

BUT the GOOD news is Shadow plans on returning, only to do his test Code Blog. I will let you guys know when he ready to open up.
